Voice AI development for real phone lines.

Velvy builds voice AI agents that answer and place phone calls, hold a natural conversation, look things up and write back to your systems, and hand off to a person when needed. We build on Vapi and Twilio with OpenAI and Anthropic models, and every call is logged with a transcript and summary. You can talk to one of our voice agents on the live demo before we start.

What we build

Voice agents for calls coming in and going out.

01

Inbound call agents

Answer every call, handle the common questions, take the caller’s details, and book or route the request.

02

Outbound calling

Confirmations, reminders, and follow-up calls triggered from your CRM or database, within the calling hours you set.

03

Qualification and intake

Structured question flows that capture exactly what your team needs, written straight into your systems.

04

Live tool calls

Mid-call lookups and actions: check availability, find an order, create a ticket, or book a slot.

05

Warm handoff

A transfer to a person, with context, when the caller asks for one or the agent reaches its limits.

06

Transcripts and summaries

Every call logged with a transcript and summary, searchable and reviewable, with outcomes tagged the way your team needs.

Hear it first

Talk to a live voice agent before you brief us.

Our AI receptionist demo is a working voice agent, not a recording. Start a conversation from your browser and hear how it answers questions and takes details.

How we build it

Designed for the way people actually talk.

The stack

  • Vapi
  • Twilio
  • OpenAI API
  • Anthropic API
  • TypeScript
  • Node.js
  • PostgreSQL
  • Supabase
01

Map the calls

We review the call types you really get, what callers ask, and where calls go wrong today.

02

Set the boundaries

Prompt, persona, and the hard rules: what the agent can answer, what it must collect, and when it hands off.

03

Wire the tools

Calendar, CRM, database, and SMS through Twilio, so the agent acts during the call instead of taking a message.

04

Test on real lines

Scripted and adversarial test calls, latency tuning, and transcript review before and after launch.

How to engage

Start with Agent Pilot.

A voice agent is a natural Agent Pilot: one production agent on your real phone line, with test calls, evals, deploy, and documentation.

We start with paid discovery, never an unpaid test project, so the plan rests on your real requirements.

Agent Pilot

3–4 weeks

One production agent on your real data: discovery, build, evals, deploy, docs, and handoff.

Also fits

AI Feature Sprint

4–6 weeks

Adding voice to an app you already ship? An AI Feature Sprint is the better fit.

Something else on your mind? Ask us directly at hello@velvy.ai, or book the intro call below.

How natural does a voice AI agent sound?
Natural enough that the real work is in the conversation design rather than the voice itself. The best test is to hear one: the live demo on our AI receptionist page is a working voice agent you can talk to from your browser.
Can it use our existing phone number?
Usually, yes. Calls can be forwarded or routed to the agent through Twilio, either for every call or only for missed and after-hours calls. We work out the routing with you during discovery.
What can a voice agent do during a call?
Anything we give it a tool for: check a calendar and book a slot, look up a customer or an order, create a ticket, send a confirmation text, or transfer to a person. It works from your systems in real time rather than taking a message for later.
How do you deal with latency?
Latency decides whether a call feels like a conversation. We tune model choice, prompt length, and tool response times, and we test on real phone lines, not only in the browser.
Is this the same as your AI receptionist?
The AI receptionist is our packaged voice agent for local businesses. Voice AI development is the custom version: your own call flows, integrations, and outbound use cases, built for your product or operation.
